Governing Policies

The Riverside Funeral Home & Crematorium ("RFH") is owned by Five Rivers Community Services Society ("FRCSS") and managed by Five Rivers Management Services Society ("FRMSS").

Our mission is to provide dignified and respectful funeral services at a reasonable and affordable cost to grieving families.

Board of Directors

The board members of FRCSS and FRMSS ("Board of Directors") are elected to serve voluntarily, without monetary remuneration. These policies are created to benefit the entire community equally, without favoritism or bias.

Funeral Services Policy

  • Services are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Each service is one hour long, with timing managed by the RFH funeral director.
  • Families are requested to arrive 30 minutes early and finish on time to avoid delays for others.
  • Typical Punjabi services (200-300 attendees) will be hosted in the East or West Chapel (subject to availability).
  • Services with 500+ attendees require both chapels (weekdays only, at extra cost).
  • Wash and Dress Rituals take place a day prior, limited to 10-15 immediate family members.
  • The family must arrange and bring their own priest for these rituals.

Instructions & Communication

A single contact person must be appointed to communicate with the RFH funeral director. Instructions will only be accepted from this person unless otherwise specified by them.

Anti-Harassment Policy

Bullying, harassment, and discrimination are strictly prohibited. Any such behavior may result in law enforcement intervention and removal from RFH premises.

All incidents must be reported to the Board of Directors promptly by staff or Board Members.

Complaints and Suggestions

  • Each family will receive a complaint and suggestion form with a stamped envelope.
  • Written complaints will be acknowledged and reviewed fairly and confidentially.
  • No retaliation for complaints will be tolerated; consequences may include dismissal, censure, or suspension of services.

Amendments

The Board of Directors reserves the right to update or amend these policies as necessary. All staff are expected to follow the RFH WORKPLACE HARASSMENT POLICY and other directives issued by the Board.
